About the Role

An established Further Education college in South Yorkshire is seeking a dedicated Horticulture, Land and Plant Sciences Lecturer to join their Land-Based Studies department on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced horticulture professional who is passionate about delivering high‑quality teaching and supporting learners to develop strong practical and scientific skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well‑structured teaching across horticulture, land‑based sciences and related subjects
  • Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with curriculum requirements
  • Support learners to develop practical competencies and underpinning scientific knowledge
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental quality processes

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working in horticulture (industry or education)
  • Teaching experience within FE or similar education settings
  • Teaching qualification (TQ desirable)
  • Strong subject knowledge across land-based and plant sciences
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners of varied abilities
